Dayton Mayor's Teen Youth Summit to bring together future leaders

Mayor Jeffrey J. Mims, Jr., will bring together dozens of promising young leaders for inspiration, information and empowerment as they navigate real-world issues and prepare for the future. The teens are students from Dayton high schools.

 

The event takes place at the Sinclair Community College Conference Center, 444 W. Third St. (Building 12), from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 26. 

Areas of focus will include mental health, purpose & passion, civic engagement, and mentorship. 

 

The keynote speaker will be Josh Copeland, noted motivational speaker, founder of Learning 2Cope and former Fairborn High School athlete.

 

Additional speakers are State Representative Willis Blackshear; Jane McEwen (manager, Mentoring Collaborative); Lavar Glover (Dayton Chamber of Commerce); and Shawnieka Pope, MSW (clinical professor, Miami University).
