Daytonians and downtown gallery named winners of statewide award

Two of the nine winners in this year's Governor's Awards for the Arts are based in Dayton. The Ohio Arts Council has named K12 Gallery & TEJAS a co-winner in the Arts Education category alongside Richard "Duarte" Brown of Columbus. In a Facebook post, the gallery says the award helps solidify the hard work of its staff and supporters. Burt and Alice Saidel, also of Dayton, received honors in the Arts Patron category. The annual awards recognize some of Ohio's best artists, art organizations, and supporters of the arts. This year's winners will be honored during a ceremony on May 11 and will receive original paintings from Yan Sun and Dr. Hong Yin of Zanesville.
