Funds authorized to repair office tower

The Dayton City Commission has approved spending $2.5 million on repairs to the Centre City building at 40 S. Main St. The repairs will be made to secure and stabilize the building and prepare it for redevelopment. The building's facade has deteriorated and begun to crumble, making structural improvements and other repairs necessary for public safety. Developers of other prominent downtown development projects have expressed interest in the building pending securing funding, and could eventually move forward with a mixed use development at the site.
