By Zack Frink

Sinclair Community College is teaming up with health care organizations to provide hands-on training at its state-of-the-art Simulation Center, reports the Dayton Daily News.

The big picture: Sinclair's Simulation Center enables health care professionals to collaborate with the college's Health Sciences faculty in creating realistic health scenarios, offering valuable hands-on training for various critical situations.

  • The center has recently resumed its efforts to provide training opportunities after a pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

What's next: Health care organizations can lease the Simulation Center or have Sinclair develop specific training scenarios, including mock codes, difficult airway cases, pediatric emergencies and more.

  • The center also serves as a resource for community partners such as health care organizations, in line with the college's mission.

Zoom in: The Simulation Center houses cutting-edge equipment that replicates operating rooms, home health care areas and exam rooms.

  • Recently, the center has provided training on inserting air tubes through difficult air pathways, PPE protocol adherence and managing ICU patients with a critical care simulator.

Why it matters: The partnership between Sinclair Community College and health care organizations has received praise for its positive impact on team interactions and critical situation processing.
