Y-Dub Discussions: YWomen Vote: Every Year Matters

Ensuring access to the voting booth is an important part of YWCA’s commitment to eliminating racism and empowering women and is critical to ensuring a healthy, safe, empowered future for our communities.

Ratified in 1920, the 19th Amendment was a monumental step in empowering women by giving them the right to vote. However, the power structures built on the assumption that women, and especially women of color, would be forever excluded from the political process remain rigidly in place, and people continue to fight over what it means for women to have political power, or whether they truly have it.

Join us for a community conversation about YWomen Vote, the history of voting challenges, and the continued barriers that women face in America. We’ll also look ahead at practical ways individual citizens can influence public policy and make their voices heard so that women remain a driving force on issues big and small – every single year.

Free to attend on Zoom.
