Hannah’s Treasure Chest will host its second annual Great Diaper Dash 5K and Kids’ Fun Run this Saturday, Sept. 28. Participants can register online for $30 and receive one free Kids’ Fun Run entry with each 5K entry.

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. at Centerville High School. The kids’ run starts at 9 a.m., and the 5K starts at 9:20 a.m.

Participants who donate packages of diapers before the race will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a Cassano’s prize pack. Each donor receives a raffle ticket for every 10 diapers donated.

“The Diaper Dash serves multiple purposes,” said Dr. Stuart Merl, interim executive director of Hannah’s Treasure Chest. “It helps raise awareness about diaper need, provides funds to help us address this problem, and it’s a fun race!”

The Diaper Dash intentionally takes place during Diaper Need Awareness Week. According to the National Diaper Bank Network, diaper need is the lack of a sufficient supply of diapers to keep a baby clean, dry and healthy.

“Hannah’s Treasure Chest is a member of the National Diaper Bank Network,” said Merl. “With the continued help of our generous local businesses and supporters, we are not only committed to alleviating the problem of insufficient diapers, but also fulfilling our overall mission of enriching the lives of children in need.”

The event offers handmade 5K medals, prizes for top finishers, post-race snacks and an accessible, stroller-friendly route.
