Submission Guidelines

Submit an article to Elevate Dayton, and our content team will help you through editing to publishing. A few guidelines for submission:

  • Write about any topic you choose.

  • Submissions must be 300-500 words.

  • Cite sources. Provide links to credible news articles, studies and other research materials when including facts or statistics.

Tips to create a strong piece

  • Only submit photos, videos and other media that you own the rights for.

  • Include at least one high-resolution photo with each submission. Submit up to 10 photos per submission.

  • Try your best to include at least two quotes from people or organizations included in the story. This element is essential in revealing a story’s impact and driving the narrative. Submissions without quotes will not be accepted unless otherwise stated by our content team.

  • The submission process is a collaborative effort. Routinely check your email in case the editorial team needs to contact you about additional questions or needs further clarification about your submission.
