Montgomery County distributing funds to help small businesses impacted by COVID-19

Montgomery County is distributing $40 million to help small businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Small businesses can apply for up to $10,000 in grant money to use for expenses like rent/mortgage, utilities and business insurance.

The grant is meant to help small businesses that have not already received federal assistance. The grant is also meant to help small businesses that were interrupted because of required closures, voluntary closures to promote social distancing and decreased customer demand as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The County has created a process for small businesses to apply for aid from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. The deadline to apply is November 30.

Agriculture, education, health care and housing are examples of industries eligible for funding.

Small businesses interested in applying for aid can view the grant application requirements here. Call 937-224-FUND (3863) with questions or fill out the contact form on Montgomery County’s website.
