NorthPoint Development announced plans to construct a large industrial/office park in Miami Twp., creating more than 600 jobs in the region, reports the Dayton Daily News.
The details: The First Flight Commerce Center, which is expected to create more than 600 jobs in the region, will consist of six buildings totaling 1.7 million square feet.
- The first building, a 230,000-square-foot edifice, is set to begin construction this summer and finish in late 2024.
The big picture: The $146 million project will be NorthPoint Development's first project in Miami Twp.
- It was drawn to the site due to its location and the county's desire for a business park to be developed there.
- The development is intended to provide space for businesses with high employment that ultimately supports the Dayton-Wright Brothers Airport.
What we're watching: Pending approval by trustees of the final development plan, construction of the First Flight Commerce Center is expected to commence soon.
- The project is projected to create approximately 650 jobs throughout the entirety of the park by 2028.
The bottom line: The First Flight Commerce Center is a potentially transformative development that Miami Twp. does not currently have, according to Alex Carlson, the township's community development director.
